"I found Bert Bales through the internet, on a search for carpenters in Nanaimo. For some reason he stood out from all the others, and after talking to him on the telephone, I felt confident he was a truthful man even though we had not met face to face.
We had our first personal meeting on August 3 when I arrived from Saskatchewan. Bert gave me his estimate within 24 hours, we agreed to the cost, and he immediately got to work with the renovations. Bert arrived at the job site each day with enthusiasm, on time, and didn't leave until he had put in a good day's work (usually 9 hours). If I came up with an idea, I would ask Bert, "What do you think? Is this possible Bert?" And his reply was usually, "I can do that."
I had to fly back to Saskatoon on August 12. When my husband and I returned on August 19, Bert had accomplished a large portion of the work.All the old materials and junk were removed by Bert and in the end it was sort of hard to say 'Adios'.
We've still got a deck to be built and without a doubt, BERT BALES CARPENTRY would be the only company we would consider.
